Privacy notice
Who is responsible. Until the association is founded, the controller under the GDPR is Matthias Gruber, research@matthiasgruber.com.
This website. The public pages set no cookies, use no analytics or tracking, and load nothing from third parties (fonts are served from our own server). The web server keeps no access or error logs for this site.
Membership waiting list. If you enter your email address, we store:
- your email address,
- the time you signed up and the time you confirmed it,
- a technical counter of how many confirmation mails we sent, to stop abuse.
We use the address only to tell you when supporting membership opens. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you give by confirming the link in our mail (double opt-in).
How long we keep it.
- If you do not confirm within 7 days, the entry is deleted automatically.
- Each mail contains a link that deletes your address immediately.
- When membership opens, we write to you once; if you do not join, we delete your address.
Who processes it for us. The server runs at Hostinger in Frankfurt, Germany, and our mails are sent through Hostinger's mail servers (Hostinger International Ltd., under a data processing agreement, Art. 28 GDPR). Nobody else receives your address, and it is never sold or used for advertising.
Members area. members.alpine-institute.eu is a separate, invite-only area. Signing in there sets a session cookie that is technically necessary for the login.
Your rights. You can ask for access to, correction or deletion of your data, restriction of processing and data portability, and you can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future. Write to research@matthiasgruber.com. You can also complain to the Austrian data protection authority (Österreichische Datenschutzbehörde, Barichgasse 40–42, 1030 Wien, dsb@dsb.gv.at).
